I booked an online appointment for Friday 1/9/2026 at 3pm for my 2017 Chevy Volt because it threw “Service High Voltage Charging System” and a check engine light. When I got there, the service manager German Franco said that was too late in the day (despite the appointment) and told me Volt diagnostics take hours, pulled codes, and told me to come back Monday.

DO NOT TRUST HANLEES DAVIS CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT!
I took my truck in back in January, and they still have it, with no clear updates other than, “We’re waiting for parts.” Every time we call, we get the same vague response with no real timeline.
When we first dropped off the truck, we told them we had already scanned it, and it showed a bad injector, which is covered under warranty. We were towing a trailer on vacation when the thermostat on my Suburban went out. Called Hanlees to see if they could take a look. Cathy answered the phone and was so nice and helpful. German was quick to diagnose the problem and help with finding us a place to park our trailer for the night. Parts were ordered and repairs were done when on time. Everyone was so friendly!

Hanlee’s is close to where I live, and very convenient. And fortunately, the people there are very friendly & take good care of my 2018Volt. I appreciate that they have answers to my questions, and willfind information if needed
It took 2 hours to complete minor maintenance and a recall repair - I was told it would take no more than an hour.
More importantly, when I was called by the dealer, I was told that I just needed to come in for the 15,000 mile regular maintenance- but when I got there it turned out there was a recall to be done- and they were going to charge me $750 for some really basic maintenance that I had already been performing myself (replacing windshield wipers and windshield fluid, for example). They seemed fine. Friendly enough and didn't seem pressured. Took care of charging my car and getting it ready. Everything was pretty simple. Didn't get my $500 charging credit with EVGo, though. Make sure to follow up with your sales person on the details. Still waiting to hear back on that... Oh, wait, I bought a car there because the one I brought for service was unable to be fixed due to the GM strike. That was August 15th...still waiting for any word.

I purchased a 2021 Chevy Silverado from another dealership and have had nothing but problems. After multiple attempts from another local Chevy dealership to fix my truck it was still leaking fluid, overheating, and breaking down. Hanlees Chevrolet in Davis provides the best service in the area, for all kinds of cars. They’re friendly, fair priced, and fast.
I had an EV problem, I told them after discussing with electrician GM hired to install my dedicated outlet that I probably had a faulty charging cable. Seems pretty simple. They had me bring in my car 1st thing the next morning. They had my car all day, did nothing. They charged it overnight and could not replicate the problem (I told them the problem would not happen since it was 3/4 charged). Friendly and prompt when I called. German was able to get me in for an oil change within a couple days of my call, which I really appreciated.
Very communicative and proactive with my service request. Ordered parts in advance and rescheduled service to minimize the amount of time I would be without my vehicle.

They fixed my car as expected, but the furniture in the waiting room was dilapidated. The fabric on all of the chairs was threadbare, and the legs of one chair were soon to break off. Also, one of the tabletops was wobbly. The rich owners should pay for a simple renovation at least!

Hanlees Service had my 2021 Z71 for over a month, needed a new engine after 20k, no offer of a loaner, no help with rental costs, dealership never called me to update me or even tell me that they were replacing the engine. I had to call week after week, where I was met with unprofessional customer service. I have never dealt with a dealership without walking away aggravated until now. We even had a slight bump in the road and they made it very easy on me and quickly handled it. They were able to do the work while I waited, which was great. But it should have taken 20 minutes and it took about 60.
Took our 2022 electric car in on 8/02 for message alert. Turns out battery was bad and needed warranty replacement. Got car back 3 weeks later filthy and scratched. Was obviously just left outside the entire time and whoever scratched the car apparently didn’t care. I had asked for a loaner and was told they didn’t have one, but I could rent a car and would be reimbursed $45/day. I checked on that and the cost would have been well over $120/day. No thanks.
No pressure put on by there sales people. Gave space to let me check out vehicle and take on test drive.
Matt, my service advisor and German has stellar customer service. They listened to my concerns, diagnosed and confirmed the repair needed and kept me up to date every step of the way while my car was being serviced! They went above and beyond! I originally purchased my car at Hanlees from Dave Estacio and every time I had my car serviced there I was completely satisfied. I only trust taking my Vette to Hanlees in Davis for major service!
